Lesson Planning and Instruction

Unit and Lesson Planning

During lesson instruction, I ensure my plans contain strategies and activities supporting multiple intelligences and unique learning styles. Also, I provide leveled materials, multi-sensory aids, and enrichment opportunities allowing high ability students choice extensions. By creating interdisciplinary lesson plans and units, I can tie subject content to real-world applications. Furthermore, using 21st-century technology, I support curriculum, inquiry, encourage autonomy, and in-depth investigation.

Additionally, I prepare choice opportunities, along with math and literacy stations, to foster self-facilitated and collaborative learning. Using STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics), along with relating texts, I create engaging units, lessons, activities, and literacy connections. Offering rich learning experiences fosters individual growth, social-emotional development, and supports learner motivation.

“A good teacher, like a good entertainer first must hold his audience’s attention, then he can teach his lesson.” ~ John Henrik Clarke
