RTI Intervention – SPED Support Services Title 1
Throughout the day, I support TIER 2 and TIER 3 students reading and math instruction. Utilizing the Indiana RTI model, I assess students and evaluate their strengths and weaknesses. Each pre-post assessment rotation lasts approximately four weeks per grade level and subject. Also, I collaborate with the grade-level teachers and staff by reviewing pre-assessment data. Furthermore, I push-in or pull students to teach individual and small group skill-building lessons utilizing various strategies.

Grade: Kindergarten – Orton Gillingham (OG) Intervention
RTI: TIER 2 and TIER 3 – Below Level – (BL)
    Subject: Reading
Content: Phonological and Phonemic and Awareness Skills
Instructional Practices / Strategies: Blending, Segmenting, Decoding, Letter Recognition Flash Cards
Summary: As a SPED support service and intervention aide, I work with below level kindergarten students at the instructional and frustration levels per phonemic and phonological screening assessments. Daily, I pull struggling students and utilize OG phonemic and phonological awareness strategies to assist small groups, and individual students reach on-level skill development.

    Grade: Second
RTI: TIER 2 – Below Level – (BL) / On Level (OL)
    Subject: Math
Content: Math – Second Grade Math Standards – Skills
    Instructional Practices / Strategies: Hands-on
Summary: Daily small group math success provides opportunities for students to practice and learn different strategies. Each 4-week rotation focuses on a different mathematical topic determined by pre-assessment data.
